Cancer Treatment

Recent advances in the treatment of cancer with both drugs and radiation have led to an important treatment option: Targeted therapies.

Unlike traditional chemotherapy, the most important feature of smart drugs used in appropriate cases today is that they do not harm healthy cells while trying to prevent the growth of tumor cells. Immunotherapy aims to enable the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells.

Targeted therapies are also widely used in radiation oncology today. Intensity-dose modulated radiotherapy, MRI- or tomography-assisted radiotherapy contribute greatly to success in cancer treatment and shorten treatment times.

It should not be forgotten that cancer treatment is personalized. Depending on many factors such as the type of tumor, the region where it is located and the stage of the cancer, the treatment to be applied to the patient changes.
