Lydia Rehabilitation and Recovery Center

The Lydia Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Kavala provides physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for a wide range of conditions, from stroke-related speech, voice and swallowing disorders, to multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, from post-operative rehabilitation to cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation and from back, neck, knee and arm pain to sports injuries. Spanning an area of 5,500 square meters, the center admits both inpatients and outpatients. With a capacity of 80 beds, the center features single-occupancy rooms as well as two and three-bed rooms.

The center helps patients regain their abilities in walking, balance, speech, perception and personal care, offering treatment using advanced medical equipment, particularly robotic rehabilitation. The center’s physiotherapy department is staffed by personalised personnel with experience in using modern equipment and specialised certified training.

Geriatric Physiotherapy and Paediatric Rehabilitation

The paediatric department, situated in a specially designed, independent environment, provides care for children with motor and developmental difficulties. The center also houses a geriatric physiotherapy department dedicated to serving elderly patients. Lydia Rehabilitation Center, which holds a prominent position among private physical therapy and rehabilitation centers in Greece, aims to serve cross-border patients from many countries in the surrounding region, particularly Turkey. Some of the center’s key departments and treatments include:

Hydrotherapy

The center features two indoor pools controlled by modern systems that ensure safe levels of chlorination, water quality and ozonation. The water level in the outpatient pool can be adjusted to suit each patient thanks to its adjustable floor.

GEO System (Physiotherapy Department)

By providing a realistic simulation of a normal walking pattern, it helps patients regain their mobility and independence in daily life. It facilitates the patient’s recovery of walking ability in a shorter time compared to traditional treatment methods.

Speech Therapy

An integral part of rehabilitation, speech therapy involves the inclusion of individuals experiencing communication (speech and language) and swallowing difficulties following stroke, brain injury or other neurological conditions in a treatment programme.

Occupational Therapy

Using modern technology and a scientific approach, patients are assisted in developing and enhancing their motor, cognitive and sensory skills through experiential simulation in a specially designed training room. The aim is for the patient to achieve the highest possible level of functionality, independence and autonomy in their daily life, thereby significantly improving the quality of life for both the patient and their family.

Psychological Support

The center, which also provides psychological support to patients, runs ‘creative activity groups’. The aim is to enable patients to socialise with others who share similar challenges and to stimulate their cognitive functions through a variety of activities.
